We hired Marshall to help us envision and design a total rehabilitation of a Concord Center historic Victorian farmhouse, and create an addition to the structure that would nearly double the size of the house. Our challenge was how to honor the integrity of the 1800’s structure while creating a space that worked for a modern family – one with open spaces, light, storage and lots of function. Marshall was able to create a design with both historic and modern relevance. HIs technical understanding and creative thought were invaluable, but the skill set he possesses which is much more rare is his ability to listen to his clients. Marshall translated our dream for our family home into a reality that surpassed what we had envisioned. He truly worked with us to incorporate our vision into something that was solid, comprehensible, consistent and ultimately, beautiful. Beyond the design process, Marshall was there every step of the way holding our hand through permitting, structural engineers, land surveying, builder selection and resourcing for everything from windows to beams. Not only did we enjoy working with Marshall, but our builder speaks just as well of him as we do – creating a seamless process of teamwork to make our project happen on time and on budget. We would happily use Marshall again, but thanks to him, we doubt we will need to.
